Sharia
Economics This Year (SETY) 2013 will be coming up in November this year with a
brand new design of SENSATION.
SENSATION will hold series of event and will be closed by International Seminar
of Sharia Economics on the theme “Miracle of Islamic Economics: Improving Global
Resilience towards Balanced Growth and Development”. The seminar will be
held on November 30 at Auditorium-MM UGM.
Why did we
raise this theme? “The Miracle of Islamic
Economics” is an optimism of developing Islamic economics to face global
challenges nowadays. The background issues behind this theme are the crisis
occuring in a shorter range of time, financial resilience, and economic
resilience awareness in order to create global resilience towards economic
growth and balanced development. As more than 2,500 businesses, governments and
civil societies from more than a hundred countries did discussion in the
international meeting-World Economic Forum (WEF) 2013 in Davos-Klosters within
the theme: Resilient Dynamism, it
reamins a big question on how to achieve global resilience to be implemented
through the Developmemt Agenda.
Islamic
economics as a growing and developing study around the globe has the right
momentum and opportunity to contribute through its basic principle in creating maslahah and rahmatanlil’alamin. Moreover, IMF study (IMF Survey
Magazine-IMF Research : 2010) declared that Islamic banks are more resilience
to crisis. Now then, can Islamic economics act as one of the solutions
to manage global challenges and create global resilience?
International
Seminar Sety 2013 invites academicians and practitioners to share their
findings, ideas, and insights on how to reach global resilience and how Islamic
Economics can contribute.
